Where is DOND filmed?
The show is filmed in a studio in Bristol, now dubbed 'The Dream Factory'.
Does Noel actually talk to The Banker during the show on the telephone?
Yes, it was originally rumoured that Noel never really spoke to The Banker but that's not true. More recently some contestants and audience members have been given the chance to speak to the banker directly on the phone and occasionally Noel has held the phone next to the microphone for the viewers to hear The Banker's chilling laugh!
Who is The Banker?
The identity of The Banker remains a secret – although there have been many rumours and theories…
Who seals the boxes?
The numbers are put into the boxes and sealed by an independent adjudicator (a solicitor), and once sealed are closely guarded by security. When contestants arrive on set the boxes are already there and they pick their box numbers from a bag of numbered ping pong balls. Each contestant is then allocated the corresponding box to their numbered ball.
How often are the shows filmed?
DOND films three shows a day, five days a week for two weeks at a time, so 15 shows a week. Episodes have to be filmed well in advance as many run on for two to three hours each and need to be edited down to fit in to the allotted time slot. Most contestants have been on there for no longer than 30 shows, which is about two weeks in real-time, however the production team ask for a commitment of four weeks from people just in case.
