It's the beginning of the new academic year and Jonty de Wolfe, Vice Chancellor of Kirke University, played by Andy Nyman, tries to talk a suicidal student into ending it all.

Meanwhile, underachieving English professor Matthew Beer, played by Joseph Millson, is forced to collaborate with introverted lecturer Imogen Moffat, played by Lisa Jackson, who has just written a popular maths bestseller. But first he has to deal with the fact that she is female, and therefore technically on his 'to do' list.

  4. Fantastic! One or two dry parts but overall far better than most other shows on right now. I think I might visit Brunel just to see and walk around where this was filmed :D (I assume you won't get shot on site if you're not a student there...)

  6. These comments are astounding. The VC character is so clearly a rip off of David Brent it's painful. While putting someone in a dress and having similar music to Green Wing doesn't make it as good or original as said show. Can only assume most of the over the top remarks are self promotion from individuals involved in campus. That said, there were some genuinely funny moments involving the eng lit lecturer.

  8. Channel 4 please nominate Joseph Millson for best comedy performance of 2009, all cast excellent but he is outstanding. And of course Campus for best new comedy.

  11. Really liked this, should definitely be made into a series, there isn't enough of this kind of awkward, surreal comedy on TV.

  14. Found the Jonty De Wolfe character unbearable to watch - get rid of him and it would be quite funny but no where near as good as green wing!

  15. I liked it, but, it has a lot of improvement to make to be compared with the Green Wing, however, I'm sure with a bit more polish and tweaks this could be a good series

  17. Come on, this was really poor. All the characters seemed to be based on the characters from Green Wing, with the exception of the dean - He was just a cross between Gervais and Malcom Tucker. I wanted to like this, but swearing alone does not make cutting edge comedy. The writing seemed so lazy and devoid of any real humour. They'd be better showing Green Wing repeats with the sound off than commissioning this.

  18. Brilliant! More Campus please. Especially liked the sleazy, lazy English Lit. professor, the character's a slimeball but he's hot! Spot on about pinching the student's ideas too. Excellent stuff.

  20. Absolutely brilliant! Fresh, funny, original and obscure! Love the characters and the dialogue was really well written. Could Jonty DeWolfe be any funnier? Loved the bit when he disappeared in the frock! Would definately love to see more of this!!!!

  23. The campus was brilliant and so funny. When will it be on again? Because I would like to watch the full series. The vice chancellor of the university was the best character of all.

  24. Brilliance. I only watched a few episodes of Green Wing (I intend to watch them all eventually, thanks 4od!) but the one episode of Campus already surpassed it in my opinion. There was a nice balance of extreme characters and sympathetic ones (the accounts guy, the maths lecturer who had just published), giving the show a bit more heart than Green Wing. The (very very few) negative comments here don't back up their opinions so it's likely they just don't appreciate this type of humour, so don't let their misguided opinions influence you - make the series! I need to see more! This one episode made it one of my favourite programmes!

  27. Just watched this, missed the start but it was still epic, fantastic, excellent....blah blah... It was so good I got off the sofa and got online just to track down the first 10 mins, and I've never done that before! It would be a travesty for comedy if these writers and actors weren't let loose with a series. Andy Nyman did a superb reprise of his Dead Set character. Yes the humour has similarities to Green Wing but this has the potential to be even greater. Anyone making Gervais and Brent comparisons is way off and is missing so much that is in this material. Commissioning Editors you better pick this show up or I'm coming to get you!

  29. Really quite funny! It's not often that I get so worried that I won't get to see any more funny goings on that I track down a comments page (this is only the second time). Hopefully this will fill the vacuum left when Green Wing went to live on a farm. Please make the full series happen.

  48. I LOVED this! It was very similar to Green Wing (which isn't surprising if it's made by the same people, I guess) and I thought Green Wing was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. It was so good to have that dark and surreal humour back on the telly. If only there was a way to have Guy in this as well it'd be PERFECT! Bring on the whole series!

  51. I'm going to have to assume all the people commenting on how great this is are doing so out of a favour to their friends involved in it. This is crushingly unfunny and might be the least clever attempt at comedy I have ever seen. I can't believe it was made. I'm embarrassed to share a planet with it.
