I felt like a disabled person from day one. I was a professional footballer and in a split second I lost the ability to walk and was dependant on a wheelchair.
The most embarrassing thing to happen because of your disability/impairment is:
I was out doing Christmas shopping a few years ago and I was balancing all the shopping bags on my knees. I went to go down a ramp and fell out the back of my chair. There was a woman across the street and she nearly had a heart attack!
Common misapprehensions about your disability/impairment:
People assume I need their help. Whether it's jumping in my car or opening doors, they always rush over and make a big deal out of nothing.

It's given me a drastic change of life and I know now not to take anything for granted.

I miss a lot - walking, running - but most of all I miss playing football.
