Series 1
Series Summary
Butler becomes the pirate captain of an ex-naval vessel after he unwisely suggests mutiny to his gullible crew. The fact that he was completely drunk at the time probably explains why it turned out to be a huge mistake. Butler knows he's not the right man for the job, but he hasn't the heart to let his crew down.
On one side of him is Bosun - a salty sea-dog with many years at sea and a bad attitude. Bosun is a bloodthirsty traditionalist of the old school: hack and cut first, get drunk later.
On the other side is Cliff, a missionary-educated ex-African slave and chieftan of his village. Cliff is the hyper-logical one, but he often fails to see the wider picture. Adeel is an Asian cook and mother-hen of the group. His constant worry turns to out-and-out fear at the drop of a hat. And there's the latest recruit to this merry band - Lord Roger of Boothby. He's very young, keen, fresh-faced and naive, and convinced that Butler is the greatest pirate to sail these seven seas.
