Half a century after their heyday, the ageing stars of the 1950s tango scene were reunited for an emotional concert in Buenos Aires' monumental Teatro Colon.
'You can't separate tango from life,' says guitarist Anibal Arias early on in Cafe de Los Maestros. It's a statement typical of the high passions that run throughout the film, but for the ageing stars there's no doubt it's true. Tango hasn't just dominated their lives; it's been inextricably linked in with the fate of their country.
