The family is relieved to be told that Justin will make a full recovery from his accidental drug overdose.
Kitty interviews a senator surrounded by scandal after his recent divorce. After he asks what he can do to avoid being asked about his personal life, Kitty attempts to bribe him by requesting he use his influence to prevent Justin from having to go back to the military.
When they gain access to their father's account, Sarah and Kevin find that all their father owns is a piece of land in Neveda of little value. Tommy, Kevin and Sarah decide to visit it to find out why he would have bought it.
Meanwhile, live on air, Kitty admits to her indiscretion involving the senator and how he did the right thing by refusing to help.
On viewing the land in Neveda, Tommy, Kevin and Julia discover a safe deposit box left by their father in a bank nearby. They find that the land is worth more than enough to save their company from bankruptcy.
Nora no longer blames Kitty for Justin joining the army and Justin calmly accepts that he has to go back. While celebrating thanksgiving, Kitty receives a call from the senator offering her a job and Tommy and Julia announce that they are expecting a baby.
