  3. What where Channel 4 thinking. How pathetic to insinuate that there is a desire by non white people to transform themselves to become more white the justification given by channel 4 that White is increasingly perceived as the ultimate or perfect beauty ridiculous!!! I was angered and appalled that the ideals of a few where somehow infurred to be the majority view of their races. I am black happy and privelaged to be black, i love my skin, my features and have never contemplated changing these. Please accept that Black, Asian and other ethnic minorities are happy and content with their appearance. The neurotic opinions of those taking part in the show as well as the distorted opions of the surgeons bares no resemblance to anything i have ever come accross. White people as far as i can see may harbour more of a desire to have the features of ethnic people with collagen lip implants and tanning. When we look at the world of entertainment we continously and increasingly see ethnic people highlighted as opitimising beauty. Channel 4 are alienating and offending more and more of the UK ethnic population with ignorant ill thought out programmes intended to shock and cause controversey yet have no solid foundation at all.

  4. There are better ways, surely, to explore the white beauty myth than this programme shows. Since when did big/small breasts, large penis (yeah, right!) and height have anything to do with white physical perfection? Since when was the white person actually physically perfect? That's the myth! That's what should have been explored, not this car crash of a programme. As others here have pointed out, white people undergo ridiculous amounts of cosmetic surgery in order to change their looks and, some would say, give them more non-European features, further emphasising the myth surrounding white beauty. This programme was a total whitewash (pun intended).

  5. That a was a good documentary about people not happy with their body parts and nothing to do with race. I have had enough scientific 'rubbish' facts about black women's body. That type of breast portrayed to be that of women of African origin is nonsense. White women are more dissatisfied with their body than black women and hence have more "nips and tucks". My girlfriends and I use to say "the bigger the breast, the harder they fall, and the longer stretch", after the journeys of breast feeding. It does not matter if you are black or white or yellow, the rule of nature applies.

  6. I think the programme is awesome, for th programme explores the mythical/ imagined cultue of the western wold. Black and Asian people out there should not have a natural resistant to anything white in a millitant way but engage in good dialogue, and I believe it is the only way to prove how mythical or laughable the whole "white supramacy" concept. Having said that However, I am a Ghanaian and boy am proud to be a black African. about 15 years ago I used to Run after white tourist that visited Ghana, hoping one day they might recognise me and give me money of take me to England. I got to England on the 25 of May 2000, and as we drove through the very dirty East London ,I realised how wrong my Britainia portraits has been for all those years. In Ghana I remember statements like " the black uses his wizardery to kill whiles the white man uses his to event high tech stuff".Can you imagine if that happened to a black or Asian peson in this country? One may say the History behind to two scenario are different which is valid or is it? Some black and ethnic minority people might read this comments and refuse to agree with it but thats fine. The white mentallity is to me is associated to finding out new ways of survival in this world of ours and this journey started in Britain and the western world in the stone ages. In Ghana, I have seen men and women bleach their skin to absolute and complete white and in England I have seen men and women tanned thier skill to complete blackness. I am not been funny but may be the black skin and the white skin are the same and they are exactly what the good Lord intended it to be Till i came to this country, i thought i was built better that my white counterparts the more i looked at the evidence I realised that we are the same after all, IN THE IMAGE OF GOD- The athiest might argue differently but that is for another day. To conclude, let me just say that, the white person should really white middle class professor should look beyond the obvious halt the claim of supremacy and the black and asian people should put a stop to what i call "hate all that is white" syndrome and look beyond our natural "bias" benchmarks , may be there is more room for open debates.

  7. I am absolutely furious at channel 4 for showing this racist filth! Since when did having a nice body, full breasts etc become a white trait? I have NEVER watched such utter nonsense in my life. The chinese lady represents thousands of women of all races with no breasts some of whom (especially the white ones) choose to rectify this with breast implants. The same goes for the full figured black woman - I see white and Asian women who look like her everyday on the streets! This is tantamount to making a documentary on people who sunbathe or use tanning beds and accusing them of wanting to be black! This documentary is an absolute joke and has taken away from what was looking to be a very interesting and serious debate on race. I have NEVER written on a website before but I had to comment on this joke of a documentary. It looks like it would work very well as the BNP campaign video - what utter utter garbage. An insult to all intelligent people of all races.

  8. What planet is this %u201Cdocumentary%u201D producer from? Since when did having a smooth silky firm skin, a large penis, having a well defined toned body become %u201Cwhite%u201D? What on earth is he talking about? White people have nothing but hair all over like most other so-called %u201Craces%u201D Ironically; it’s normally the so-called %u201Cdark skin%u201D that has all of the above. Like others have rightly pointed out, why did this producer not %u201Cshow%u201D so called %u201Cwhite%u201D people that we all know are the ones that make the cosmetic and plastic surgery industry thrive! What is subtly propagated here? Is he systematically trying to use the %u201Cprivileges%u201D and %u201CTechnology%u201D that are at his disposal to %u201Cmaintain%u201D the myth that he fiendishly pretends to be %u201Cobjective%u201D about? If %u201Cobjectivity%u201D is his aim he would not be drumming %u201CMichael Jackson%u201D as representative of %u201CBlack%u201D men. Michael Jackson was in his own world and it was because of this that he lost majority of black men’s support in the first place yet producers like this still tenaciously try to force/implant this distorted image as being representative of %u201CBlack men%u201D on us all. In reality, how many %u201CBlacks or Asians%u201D does the producer see with plastic surgery? Does he not see whites tanning and injecting themselves to look like the so-called %u201Cdark skin%u201D he refers to! Go to all the gyms you see majority of the white men are on substances from steroids, Viagra, skin darkeners (what they romantically named %u201CTanning%u201D products) plastic muscle implants, tummy tucks and a whole batch of stuff I cant even pronounce. If he had wanted to be %u201CObjective%u201D he would have gone out to find a %u201Cdark skinned%u201D female or male that is appreciative and confident of their looks/body and have them provide an input to the program. Instead he shows questionable characters that are plagued by mental and emotional inadequacies and who NEED Channel 4 to finance their breast implant and reduction jobs. These people in their present state of mind and emotion got this way by their %u201Chabits%u201D in the first place. Like the one that had the breast reduction, from childhood she chose not to prevent things by not abstaining from such body deforming substances like alcohol or junk food or excess consumption of traditional food (as too much of anything is never good for you). Look at the %u201Csurgeons%u201D Channel 4 presented. In particular, the weird one with the funny glasses. He was so pitiful and inadequate! Does he really believe the hogwash he was talking about in regards a %u201Cglobal Race"! It beats me that he could stoop so low to justify his stupidity of reasoning and action. But I guess being highly "educated" has nothing to do with intelligence. If you are %u201CDark skinned%u201D, %u201Cshort%u201D (what ever that means as who gives them the right to stigmatize height or colour?) do not permit this intentional %u201Cmental onslaught%u201D and manipulation to affect you. You have a natural beauty that neither technology nor sheer human stupidity can define. Stand strong and don’t allow it to create insecurities in you. If friends or family do not like you for how you are. CUT THEM OFF, they are not worth it in the first place. I have had the pleasure of dating dark skinned ladies from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and when it comes to body they excelled and aroused my senses more than any white girl I dated (I am simply being honest). Learn the power of abstention; abstain from watching brainless TV programs or reading glossy magazines that sow insecurities in you. Develop your mind (Read), develop your body (Gym) and your soul (Abstention/Prevention) it’s the only way you can avoid mental & emotional inadequacies. The greatest love of all is in you...FIND it! May Inner Peace Be With you!

  9. I didn't think this programme was about race at all rather about people not being happy with their bodies because of the 'perfect' bodies in the media? For example Naomi Campbell is a black model and she is held up as having the 'perfect' body.I am a white woman having a breast size similar to the black woman having a breast reduction in the programme . I cannot see how a black woman having a reduction is any different to a white woman not excepting her body. I do feel however that we tend to be attracted to the exotic. The Chinese woman in the programme was worried that more Chinese men would be attracted to a western woman's figure . This is possibly true but it is also true that many white men are attracted to the Asian petite figure . We all have our own ideas of what beauty is and different people find different things beautiful not what is just held up in the media. I assume in the next programme we will be told about skin lightening. Is having your skin lightened any better/worse than white people look more attractive and darker by getting a sun-tan - well known to be a cause of skin cancer.

  10. I agree with AD. I think the number of white people having procedures like breast, butt and lip implants to look more black speaks volumes and is much greater. Don't forget the fake tan ya'll, lol.

  11. When did height become a white genetic trait? When did a sexy female figure become a white trait? As far as I see, this documentary is based on 'gutter science' and forms a part of the white supremist agenda. Shame on you Channel 4!

  12. after watching this, i am very grateful that i am a 6'2 asian man with a nice penis and no hair on my body, i have never felt that i was not worthy nor lacked confidence, on top of that, white people actually scare me and i want no part of their features, people are beautiful just the way they are, no change to physical appearance can make up for a healthy mental state, for reals

  13. Whilst this programme and series will touch on some very interesting topic/points, I am not happy with the fact that this actual programme (White Beauty Myths) implied that Michael Jackson (RIP) bleached his skin to change his race. ALthough I will not deny that he had plastic surgery on his nose, we know that he suffered from Vitligo and so has no control over his skin losing it's pigmentation. This should be stated on the programme as it is fact. Also, we have constantly seen programmes about other races trying to "become white", when will a programme be shown about all the white people who are/who've having/had surgery to be less white and more like the other races of this world. It doesn't only go one way, please show the balance. Thank you. Otherwise good series.
