Fran's an eccentric young woman who owns a boutique.
As Bernard's only friend, she might be the one person prepared to accept him for the way he is - but her usual cheeriness gives way to outright intimidation when she 'persuades' him to accept Manny as a shop assistant.
Fran is always game for a good laugh and is forever throwing Bernard into new - and often stressful - social situations. These rarely turn out well. She has a life outside her shop but is always willing to pop next door for a glass of wine.
