If you're trying to get back into work but feel your situation or problems are getting in the way, there are places you can go to for help and support.

Job Centre Plus
Visit the Job Centre Plus site for advice on looking for work, to find training courses or voluntary work, and information about your legal rights when you're unemployed or facing redundancy. If you prefer to use the phone you can speak to a Job Centre Plus adviser by calling 0845 6060 234. If you are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech difficulties, call the textphone on 0845 6055 255 (Mon - Fri, 8am - 6pm/Sat 9am - 1pm). Calls cost 7p set up charge plus no more than 4p per minute.

New Deal
Jobcentre Plus offers a number of New Deal programmes to help unemployed people, particularly those who have been unemployed for a long time, people with disabilities and anyone in need of extra help to find work. Find out more by visiting the Directgov website.

Working Families
This organisation provides advice and information for working parents on a low income and parents trying to get into work. This includes advice on benefits and tax credits, with specialist advise available for working parents of children with disabilities. Visit the website, or call the Families Helpline on 0800 013 0313 (Mon - Fri, 10am - 3.30pm/Wed 10am - 1pm). Calls are free and confidential.

Learndirect
If you want to update your skills or learn new skills to make your job search easier, Learndirect offers high-quality learning at a time and place that suits you. You choose what and when to learn, and you can work at your own pace. There are hundreds of learndirect centres across England and Wales to help you get started. Visit the website or call 0800 101 901 (daily from 7am - 11pm). Typetext is available for the hard of hearing, and all calls are free. Information for learners in Northern Ireland and Wales Wales can be found on the main website. Scottish learners should visit Learndirect Scotland, or call 0808 100 9000 (Mon - Fri, 7am - 11pm/Sat - Sun, 9am - 6pm). All calls are free.

Shaw Trust
Shaw Trust supports disabled and disadvantaged people, helping them to prepare for work, find jobs and live more independently. Visit the website to find out about training and new skills, help with finding work and much more.

Disabled Living Foundation
DLF is the UK's leading source of expert information, advice and training on independent living for older or disabled people. It provides free, impartial advice and information on all types of daily living equipment and assistive technology. DLF can help you find solutions that enable you to stay active, independent and possibly employed. Visit the website or call 0845 130 9177 (Week days 10am - 4pm). Calls are charged at local rate.

National Debtline
Provides a free, confidential and independent helpline for people with debt problems. They can give expert advice over the phone as well as providing a self-help information pack. Citizens Advice Bureau
CAB advisers can help you to fill out forms, write letters, negotiate with creditors as well as provide representation at court or tribunals. The service is free, confidential and independent. Use the website to find a wealth of information, including details of CAB support in your area.

NACRO
NACRO has over 20 years experience in developing and running education, training and employment services for people who need extra support in preparing for, finding and holding down a job, including ex-offenders and those who need help with basic skills. They give ex-offenders, disadvantaged people and deprived communities the help they need to build a better future. Alcoholics Anonymous
The AA runs free self-help groups for people who are alcoholics or feel that drinking is affecting their lives. Visit the website for further information, including a full list of available meetings.
