Series 1 Summary
Judi Dench stars as Bridget, who has been a fond, biddable wife and mother for over 20 years when her husband Mark discards her for a new, young wife, Rebecca.
For five years Bridget behaves splendidly until a chance encounter helps her recognise that she has become so emotionally isolated that she is becoming unhinged. This is when she decides to stop being splendid and things change dramatically.
Bridget stops living by other people¿s expectations: she breaks rules, takes risks, lives by her own instincts and indulges in the intoxicating delights of behaving badly¿
Episode 1 - Behaving Badly: the Tale of the Turbot
Mark announces he is leaving Bridget, his perfect wife. She meekly moves out of their home, but then decides to start behaving badly.
Episode 2 - Behaving Badly: Home Fires
Mark is politely horrified when he and his new wife return from a break to find Bridget has abandoned her flat and moved into their Hampstead home.
Episode 3 - Behaving Badly: Seize the Day
When Serafina lets Bridget and her luggage through the door of the Battersea flat, the tenants are furious.
Episode 4 - Behaving Badly: the Horse May Talk
Bridget is still living with her daughter's flat-mates where all their lives have been complicated by the presence of Giles' grandfather.
