Before Bear and Gilo can tackle Everest, their experimental motor is all but destroyed in testing and Bear is in serious trouble over the relatively tranquil English countryside.
As the day of the flight approaches, they face the reality of the challenge ahead: temperatures of -40C that will freeze any exposed flesh, hurricane-force winds that could dash them against the mountain beyond all hope of rescue, and lack of oxygen at 30,000ft that could cause blackout and almost certain death in seconds.
After days of travelling just to reach base camp, they desperately prepare to catch the brief weather window that comes only a few times a year.
But even if the weather holds (not to mention their nerves), will Gilo¿s machine be capable of taking on the ultimate aerial challenge?
