Bahtalo! is a situation comedy and a road movie documentary concerning the adventures of Lali, a Transylvanian 'Gabor' Gypsy, and Lori, a Transylvanian Hungarian.
Financial hardship prompts Lali and Lori to try out all opportunities offered by the rapid globalisation of Europe that has taken place in the past few years.
The programme follows Lali and Lori as they leave their homeland of Romania and try their luck in Hungary and Austria and finally, beyond Europe, in Egypt.
But it seems that bad luck follows them like a dark shadow and they find themselves in some unexpected and tricky situations.
