Having just turned 18, Leon has only been on Rumspringa for a couple of years and is the youngest and freshest of the bunch.
He is planning on getting baptised in the fall, and is convinced he will feel 'cleaner and happier' once he has been. He hopes that by coming to England his confidence will grow, and plans on fitting in some fun before he gets baptised in to the Amish church. He says he was a bit wilder when he just turned sixteen, wearing non-Amish 'English' clothes and having a sound system in his buggy. Now he's taken out the sound system and just dresses 'English'.
Leon is from a family of seven kids; he has two brothers and four sisters. One of his brothers is now 'English', having left the Amish church. All four of his sisters are married (and therefore no longer live at home). He knows nothing about Britain but really wants to go. And to turn 18 in a country where the legal drinking age is 18 will be quite a thing for the young Amish kids. The longest he's ever been away from his parents is a couple of weeks, when he went to stay with his sister.
