Stunt pilot Craig Hosking, along with aerial crew Mike Benson and Chris Duddy, set out to film a sequence of shots in which a helicopter appears to descend into a volcano, for a Hollywood thriller.
But as the chopper flies over the crater rim, the engine fails and the blades slowly came to a stop. Miraculously, Craig puts the chopper down inside the crater on firm ground without harming any of them.
The chopper radio dies in the crash. They rally and decide to climb out of the vent. They are all in good shape and, gulping for air, began to scale the crumbly, volcanic rock. The crater rim gets increasingly sheer towards top and eventually the climbers get stuck...
