Matthew Barbato and Nikki Parrott's film is a unique, honest and moving look into one year in the life of Alexis Arquette, the year she prepared for sex reassignment surgery.
Alexis comes from a famous family: siblings David, Patricia and Rosanna all feature in the film, but the focus is on Alexis. With over 60 film appearances to her credit, including Pulp Fiction, The Wedding Singer and Lords of Dogtown, Alexis is also a well known figure on the LA drag scene but the film gets beneath the world of red-carpet appearances and partying to show an entertaining and honest personality.
With interviews with her therapist, family, friends and surgeon, this is a richly textured film, a mix of observational footage and diary-cam moments, portraying a unique individual caught at a pivotal moment in their life.
