  1. Derren and his work are absoloutely amazing, and I thought this 3D show was brilliant. Also, I loved it because this has made me more interested in other magicians than him and broadened my horizon, if that's the right way to put it :)

  2. 3D is fantastic, a totally unique experience but the Channel 4 programmes were pathetic, so dismal as to totally discourage people from ever going to see a 3D film. So much expectation and so much disappointment.REASONS; (a)They did not show 3D at its best.(the Queen piece was not bad)but that of Derren Brown was a complete waist of time for it just didn't show the effects. "The Greatest 3D Moments" was complete trash. Why? There were 10 second blips of poor 3D sandwiched inbetween 5 minutes, of innane comments. This constant interruption and chatter culminated in extreme frustration for those of us who expected a 3D experience.Channel 4 may have wanted to show us the development of 3D and if so, should have given it a relevant title. The film was worse! "Friday the 13th 111" for goodness sake. First it should have been a film for all the family to watch, it being a Saturday and a so called rare 3D experience,(big joke,), and secondly but more importantly it was an abysmal film with its wooden acting and the 3D effect was pathetic. There are lots of examples of good 3D film around, so why did they show such bad examples? Nobody will want to see 3D after this charade. I have seen 3D films and they are superb but Channel 4 has gone a long way to destroying it.

  4. Who was the technical consultant on this?! The decision to use such a dark blue for one of the anaglyph colours meant that; a) The whole image was darkened to an unacceptable level - looking through just the right hand lens you can see what a poor image one half of the stereo pair was b) It so badly tainted any of the footage broadcast in colour, that it may as well have been in B&W c) It badly compromised the stero effect to the degree that it simply wasn't worth it. Given they have been commending on how rubbish 3D used to be (implying that this was in some way better), the vintage 3D films I have using reg/green anaglyph have given a far superior effect to what C4 has managed with this 'experiment'. And that's not even getting into the huge logistical cockup in trying to distribute the glasses (I went to three Sainsbury's around Manchester on Tuesday, none of whom had any left - but an embarrassing number on sale on ebay, who wouldn't have any buyers if C4 hadn't messed up). I do really like C4, but this has been a monumental mess. Mark

  5. Well I went and got my glasses from Sainsbury's, but the ones they were giving out were RED AND BLUE which does not work!! You need the AMBER/YELLOW and BLUE! So i guess not all Sainsbury's are giving out the right glasses.

  6. Look inside the left arm of the colorcode glasses and there is a website address, go there for some really good 3d pictures and some videos, also links to other 3d images. Have tried to post this info a few times, but it has'nt been posted, maybe this time? Mark

  7. regarding the person who is going to the enigma show in bristol, i saw it in london and it is quite simply amazing, so good i went to see it again to try and work it out and was even more baffled and amazed the second time. if anyone has any doubt about seeing it , don,t it,s not to be missed.

  8. as the simpsons' comic book guy would say "worst episode, ever......". the 3d effect was only obvious with the chandelier in the foreground, most of the rest was bland and pointless just like the content of the show compared with the usual quality of weirdness. i did find playing with the colour settings while looking at the 3d could find a "sweet spot", so try increasing and decreasing the colour settings. my 3d specs had a big warping effect on half of the left lens too which didn't help. the film "flesh for Frankenstein", gave an amazing 3d effect as long as you were prepared to watch acting that would have trouble rivalling a school play, at 2am.

  12. Some of the programmes will also be available in 3D on 4OD. The 3D effect will not be a strong, but you should still be able to get some of the 3D effect. Don't worry if you haven't got any glasses - the programmes will still be watchable without them.

  13. Hello - The glasses that will work for Channel 4’s 3D week are the Amber and Blue ColourCode 3D glasses that are available for free in Sainsbury’s, although stocks are running low, and you should ring ahead to check for availability. 3D glasses with different colour lenses won’t work with the 3D Week programmes on Channel 4.

  14. For anyone who couldn't get the glasses YOU DIDN'T MISS OUT!!! I was really looking forward to seeing something in 3D but was very disappointed. Not only was it not very good as most of the tricks were not specially set up for 3D viewing, but the supposedly 'amazing' tricks thy were doing were total rubbish and not even entertaining! Total waste of 40 mins of my life (didn't watch it to the end as got really bored).

  21. I normally enjoy Derren Brown and he doesn't usually get things wrong. I was a bit annoyed by his opening comments, however, as I have never experienced the 3D effect owing to not having fully binocular vision. It's either red & black in one eye, or blue & black in the other for me... and it ain't that watchable in 2D, just fuzzy like my aerial needs re-aligning. Sorry, but he got this one wrong.
