Lisa’s top 5 fashion tips:
-
Get a hat - they're ultra fashionable, cheaper than hair extensions and
flattering on any age. They’re also sexy and keep the sun off your skin, which is the best anti-ageing strategy of them all. The fedora is hot right now, but anything that suits your face shape is a good investment. -
Sripes are a great way to wear pattern as you get older - they're smart and sporty at the same time. Be careful where you place them though - it's much easier to wear strips on your top half than below the waist
-
Don't get stuck in a colour rut. It's great to know what suits you as you can use those colours as a base, but there's a lot of great colour coming in for spring and it would be a shame to waste it. From hot pink to emerald green and yellow to cornflower blue, the right colour can take years off you. This is also the one time when shopping with a friend can really pay off, it's often more obvious to others whether a colour is doing all the right things for you or not.
-
Hem lengths are all over the place at the moment - which is great news for everyone. We're way past being dictated to about our knees, so go with whatever suits you. But do remember that a knee length skirt has become the standard for a reason – it looks good especially on women in their 40s and above.
-
Injecting some sexiness into an outfit doesn't have to be all about showing off acres of flesh. Shoes are a great seductive tool. The newest shape this season is the classic court shoe - what goes around comes around.
