Undercover Boss
MarchA new formatted documentary series in which the top dogs of British business go undercover in their own companies to find out what’s not working, fix it and reward employees who deserve recognition.
In each episode a different boss takes part in a ten-day experiment, returning to the coal face incognito. They leave the comfort of their office and take on the dirty and dreary jobs, the highly pressured positions, the night shifts and the weekend work. Whatever position they're employed in, the undercover boss must become completely immersed: that means no delegating and no pulling rank.
It will be a challenging and revealing ten days. The boss could join a team of over-worked and stressed staff, taking orders from incompetent managers. Morale might be low and bosses will hear some home truths about the business. At the end of their stint, the undercover boss is expected to have gained a new understanding of their organisation and what they think needs to change. They must present their findings to the board, then reveal their identity to the workforce and make changes.
