Red Riding
March
An ambitious, dark and thrilling trilogy of interlinking films adapted by Tony Grisoni (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) from David Peace's cult noir novels.
1974, Yorkshire – a time of paranoia, mistrust and institutionalised police corruption. Rookie journalist Eddie Dunford (Andrew Garfield) is determined to search for the truth in an increasingly complex maze of lies and deceit that characterises a police investigation into a child abduction case.
Red Riding, from Michael Winterbottom and Andrew Eaton's award-winning production company Revolution Films, is directed by three acclaimed film makers. Julian Jarrold (Brideshead Revisited) directs 1974, James Marsh (Man on Wire) directs 1980 and Anand Tucker (Hilary and Jackie) directs 1983.
Andrew Garfield returns to Channel 4 after his Bafta-winning performance in Boy A and joins an ensemble cast of celebrated actors including: Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings), Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Paddy Considine (Dead Man's Shoes), Warren Clarke (Dalziel & Pascoe), Lesley Sharp (Afterlife), Peter Mullan (Boy A), David Morrissey (The Deal), Eddie Marsan (Happy-Go-Lucky), Maxine Peake (Shameless), Mark Addy (The Full Monty) and Gerard Kearns (Shameless).
