Another chance to see the International Emmy Award-winning Strictly Bolshoi. This intimate documentary follows choreographer Christopher Wheeldon as he takes up the challenge of becoming the first Englishman to create a new work for Moscow's prestigious Bolshoi Ballet.
Featuring fly-on-the-wall footage of the creative process in Moscow, and diary camera confessions as well as interviews from some of the ballet world's most illustrious figures, this film, conceived and executed by Ballet Boyz Michael Nunn and William Trevitt (former stars of the Royal Ballet), enables the viewer to witness first hand the trials and tribulations involved in creating a ballet for one of the world's most notorious artistic establishments.
With unprecedented access, the Boyz follow Christopher around the hallowed studios of the world famous Bolshoi, capturing the pressures and demands that he faces as he strives to create a ballet worthy of its dancers and the strict traditions they must observe daily, as artists and as a company.
