Snow Reports

Canada   Switzerland   France   Italy   Andorra   Austria   USA

Summary of snow conditions

Good news as most of Europe will get at least some much needed snow this weekend. Skiing in both France and Switzerland is mostly on hard pack. Austria is a little better after the dusting it had earlier in the week. The Italian resorts are still skiing on packed snow that could be improved with some snow forecast for the weekend. The only area open in Scotland is the Cairngorms, although the Nevis Range is expecting to open their Gondola from 20th December with skiing too, provided there’s adequate snow cover. Conditions in Germany will improve over the next few days as snow is on its way. There will be blizzard conditions throughout the country on Friday so it is important to wrap up warm. Some fresh snow is predicted for Norway and Sweden, although some resorts are looking more promising than others. In Bulgaria it is predicted that Pamporovo will open in the next couple of days, kicking off the winter season. Clear skies over Canada, which is great news for Kicking Horse and Kimberly which are opening on Friday and Saturday respectively. The forecast snow has arrived in the USA and there is more good news with Killington opening both Picco Mountain and Bear Mountain this weekend.

Snow Reports supplied by the Ski Club of Great Britain. Reports for Chamonix, St. Anton and Scotland will be added shortly.
