As designers compete to build a giant sculpture next to the Eurostar route, we asked what you'd like to see 50m high on your way to Paris.

""The "Angel of the south" should be a giant, gleaming Sterling sign - facing Europe - with a worn and rusting euro lying crumpled at its foot - this would symbolise our strength through enterprise, our wealth both cultural and financial and our independence of mind, spirit and state.

The structure could also be hollow with steps to the top - ending in a trapdoor - through which traitorous politicians could drop."
