Ukip appears to have made strong gains in the UK local elections 2014 – but its support is split across the country. Channel 4 News looks at where Ukip have been gaining influence.
Ukip gained 163 council seats – an increase of 128. However, it does not have control of any councils.

Basildon, Essex: 12 seats, 28.6 per cent.
Adur, west Sussex: 6 seats, 20.7 per cent
North East Lincolnshire: eight seats, 19 per cent
Rotherham, South Yorkshire: 10 seats, 15.9 per cent.
Harlow, Essex: five seats, 15.2 per cent.
Cannock Chase, Staffordshire: six seats, 14.6 per cent.
Portsmouth, Hampshire: six seats, 14.3 per cent.
Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire: seven seats, 13.5 per cent
Dudley, Birmingham: nine seats, 12.5 per cent.
Thurrock, Kent: six seats, 12.2 per cent.
