Two men found dead by Bradford road

West Yorkshire Police have launched a murder enquiry after a passing motorist discovers the bodies of two men at the side of a rural road in the Tong area of Bradford.

Forensic officers are now examining the scene at New Lane where the two bodies were found at 10.20pm on Tuesday night. Officers are appealing for witnesses, saying that at that time of night in such a quiet rural area people may have heard or seen any unusual activity. New Lane is in open countryside close to the suburbs of South Bradford.

Police say they are working to discover the identities of the two men, believed to have been aged between mid 20s to mid 30s, and the circumstances that led to their discovery. They are not understood to have been shot, but investigating officers declined to describe their injuries until a full medical examination had been completed.

Detectives say this was “not a random attack” and are investigating the possibility that the bodies were left on New Lane after an attack elsewhere. Neighbourhood officers were offering reassurance to local residents on Wednesday.
