Websites such as digg.com and del.icio.us are referred to as social bookmarking - or social news - sites. Simply, they allow you to bookmark a page of interest anywhere on the web, save it for future reference and share it with all other subscribers.

And, with most of these sites, fellow users can rate the article in question - giving it a thumbs up or thumbs down. The higher the rating, the more visible the link.

You'll find these buttons at the end of every article on the channel4.com/news. Once you've registered to which ever site(s) you chose (see details below) simply click on the button on your article of choice.
