Million Muppet March photo gallery

The Million Muppet March was organised after Mitt Romney declared he would cut funding to public television - including Big Bird.

There weren't quite a million muppets, but over a thousand people turned up to protect their favourite shows.

Protestors marched to the US Capitol, shouting: Elmo, We won't go!

Jared from DC said he grew up watching Sesame Street.

Colin from North Carolina brought his two daughters.

Support came from Sesame Street fans across the US - and some from New Zealand, Japan and Europe.
