Inside North Korea: Diary of a mad place by Norbert Vollertson (Encounter Books, 2004)
In 1999 a German Doctor joined a medical assistance team and was sent to North Korea where people had no water, no medicine and no sanitation. People everywhere were under surveillance, informed on by their own family members. Vollertsen tried to show foreign journalists what he had discovered and was harassed by the North Korean government until they finally deported him at the end of 2001.
