The Street Weapons Commission visited 5 UK cities throughout May 2008. In each place they talked to members of the local community and heard evidence from local representatives.

Liverpool
Their tour started in Cherie Booth's home city. Here they heard evidence on zero tolerance policing, young witnesses, reducating offenders and more.

Next stop was London, where amongst others the Commission heard from a surgeon specialising in trauma incidents such as gun and knife wounds, MPs with a special interest in the issues, the London Deputy Mayor for Young People and many others.

Birmingham
In the Midlands the Commissioners met former gang members, mothers of victims of street violence, a service that tries to mediate between gangs and more.

Glasgow
Heading north of the border, the Commission met a victim of knife crime, paralysed at the age of 16, as well as police and local community officers dedicated to tackling youth violence.

Manchester
The final stop was Manchester where the Commission met up with a group providing sports, arts, and cultural facilities to help promote personal development for young people.
