The Street Weapons Commission, chaired by Cherie Booth, toured the country in 2008 to find out why so many young people now carry guns and knives.Highlights of each hearing were shown on Channel 4, ending in a live studio debate hosted by Jon Snow.
The Commission's Final Report of findings and recommendations of is now available to download.
The Commission has decided to carry on its work in 2009 and will hold a major gathering of key figures from the police, children's services, government and community groups in February. Highlights of the discussion will be shown on Channel 4 and this website along with updates on the Commission recommendations.
The Street Weapons Commission brought together 100 people at Channel 4 in February 2009 to debate how we are tackling youth violence one year on from their Report.
