Election 2005
MARK YOUNG, INDEPENDENT, VALE OF CLYWD

Mark Young is the Independent candidate for the Vale of Clwyd. Born in 1967 and originally from the Wirral peninsula he grew up as a child spending most of his family holidays and spare time in North Wales.

Mark comes from a family with roots in Wales and 5 years ago fulfilled an ambition to move to the Vale of Clwyd and settle to down in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Mark lives near the village of Llandyrnog in Denbighshire.

The Vale of Clwyd constituency is a good mixture of town and country with Victorian holiday towns like Rhyl and Prestatyn balanced against more traditional life in Denbigh, St Asaph and surrounding areas. The electorate is approximately 49,600.

HMark is a community councillor for the area he lives in as well as a trustee of several local facilities. He runs a project management and construction business in the Vale of Clwyd.

Mark's calling to public life has been born out of frustration with the levels of bureaucracy that exist in many areas of public services locally, as well as a lack of a cohesive strategy for the for the area.

Mark's leisure activities include walking in the countryside, horse riding and enjoying a good pint of real ale.
