Channel 4 - Disarming Britain

TXTUAL HEALING

Created and hosted by renowned New York Urban Artist, Paul Notzold, 'TXTual Healing' was a series of challenging and evocative street-based events which took place in support of the Channel 4 Disarming Britain season.

Txtual Healing

In an effort to directly capture the opinions of the broader public living in areas of high-street crime, images relating to street crime were projected onto buildings with questions encouraging public response, such as "How does street crime affect you?" and "How can we get weapons off our street?"

Answers from the general public (moderated for offence) were projected in real-time onto the wall. Respondents received a text back directing them to this website.

The above picture was taken at one of two London-based Disarming Britain events in Brick Lane and Shepherd’s Bush on 26 and 27 June 2008.
