121 is a place for alternative takes on countries in and out of the news, an opportunity to go beyond the tired old tales and get a fresh story from everyday individuals. The focus is on day-to-day detail which provides real insight into the country in question.
121 is centred on international dialogues (using ‘blog’ technology) between paired individuals with similar concerns from the UK and other countries.
The first countries spotlighted on 121 are:
- Iran - launched to coincide with a week of Channel 4 News from Iran in March 2006
- Sierra Leone - launched to mark a key tour by the African Foundation for Development [AFFORD] around Sierra Leone
Other countries will be highlighted during 2006 to reflect programming from overseas locations on Channel 4 and More4.
Our collaborators on 121 include:
- ITN / Channel 4 News
- African Foundation for Development [AFFORD]
- Blogger / Google
If you or your organisation would like to take part in 121 dialogue (from the overseas/non-UK end), please contact origination@channel4.com
