How to fly through a mountain

Wingsuit flyer Jeb Corliss succeeded in his attempt to fly through a natural archway in the Tianmen Mountain in China.

Corliss’s first attempt to fly through the Tianmen Cave in the Hunan Province failed after his smoke canister had a problem – he diverted rather than attempt to fly though the 130m high and 30m wide gap.

However the 35-year-old succeeded with his second attempt, and has become the first wingsuit stuntman to fly in China.

Leaping from a helicopter Corliss was watched live on TV as he flew through Tianmen Cave.

Landing safely further down Corliss said it was “one of the greatest wing suit flights in my entire life.”

“Thank you China, that was amazing.” he said. “I love it, oh my god.”

Corliss has previously leapt from the peak of the Tianmen Mountain, off the top of the Eiffel Tower and through a waterfall in the Swiss Alps.
