How Britain is foiling terrorism

A gang of would-be jihadis is jailed for a total of 72 years after the latest in a string of terror plots is thwarted by the police and security services.

The Birmingham gang, led by 31-year-old Irfan Naseer, was caught after the biggest ever investigation by West Midlands Police’s 450-strong counter-terrorism unit.

Since the September 11, 2001 attacks six people have been jailed after actually carrying out plots to bomb targets in the UK in the name of radical Islam. The number of terrorists caught before they could put their plans into action is ten times higher.
