Fresh evidence over G20 death

A police officer is questioned under caution and could face manslaughter charges, as a new post mortem into the death of Ian Tomlinson rules he did not die of a heart attack. Simon Israel reports.

A fresh examination has overturned the original cause of death, declaring that Ian Tomlinson died of an abdominal haemorrhage.

The newspaper seller collapsed and died after he was struck and knocked to the ground by a riot officer, during the G20 protests in the City of London.

His family said they hoped the full truth about how he died would now be made known.
