Father shoots daughter’s laptop in Facebook row

In a video posted on YouTube, an angry father in the US takes his gun out and fires bullets into his daughter’s laptop, following complaints she apparently made about him on Facebook.

At the start of the video, labelled “Facebook parenting for the troubled teen”, Tommy Jordan says he is making the film for all her friends “who thought her little rebellious post was cute” and “for all you parents out there who think your kids don’t post bad things on Facebook.”

The angry father from North Carolina then pulls out a piece of paper and reads a post written by his daughter Hannah, complaining about how many chores she is made to do.

He claims the 15-year-old tried to stop him from seeing it, saying:”I would have thought with a father who worked in IT for a living you would have better sense.”

According to the rant, Hannah complained about making her parents coffee, picking up their mess and make the beds. She said she is left so tired she barely has a life outside school.

Mr Jordan is astonished at her demand to be paid for doing chores, and he tells a very different story.

After reading the post, he explains that she has very few chores and that compared to his life at her age, when he had two jobs, while volunteering as a fireman, she “has it easy”.

He then gets out his gun, puts her laptop on the ground and calmly fires bullets into it.

At one point he pauses to say: “Mum said to be sure to put one in for her.”

The clip has been watched more than a million times on YouTube.
