The father of an Iraqi man who died after being beaten while in the custody of British soldiers tells an inquiry his son was singled out for extra punishment. Jonathan Rugman reports.
Biography
Jonathan has covered everything from the assassination of Benazir Bhutto to the pirates operating off Somalia.
As Washington correspondent he covered US Presidential and mid-term elections and Hurricane Katrina, along with films from Venezuela, Bolivia and Mexico.
He joined the programme in 1999 as business correspondent, and in 2003 went on to become our Washington correspondent until 2006.
In 2006 his reports on global warming from California and the Canadian Arctic won the News category of the British Environment Media Awards.
He has reported for the programme from 18 countries, his reports winning six broadcasting awards.
Prior to joining Channel 4 News, Jonathan was an investigative reporter on BBC Radio 4's File on 4 and prior to that a correspondent based in Turkey for The Guardian, The Observer and BBC World Service.
