A Loughborough jury finds that 18-year-old Francesca Hardwick was unlawfully killed by her mother, Fiona Pilkington, who committed suicide. Jane Deith reports.
Biography
Before joining Channel 4 News, Jane was national reporter for the BBC, reporting for a range of outlets including the BBC News Channel, Radio Five Live, the Today programme and The World Tonight on BBC Radio 4.
At the BBC Jane secured an exclusive interview with Polish farm workers who had been the victims of the worst case of abuse by a gangmaster in Britain.
Jane was previously a presenter and reporter for the BBC in East Anglia where she reported on the Soham murder and the 7/7 London bombings.
Jane has a keen interest in health, reporting on a crises in maternity services and poor hospital care for the elderly.
Jane is also a keen cameraman, making a solo trip to Pakistan in 2006 to film a series on the aftermath of the 2005 earthquake. In 2007 she reported for Radio Television Senegalaise on the presidential election in Senegal.
