Biography

Bridgid is a presenter and reporter at Channel 4 News, and a presenter for its sister programme More4 News.

Since joining Channel 4 in 1999 her work has been nominated and shortlisted for awards in production, reporting and presenting.

Her broadcasting career began in 1997 as a producer on The Big Breakfast News. She went on to become a reporter for First Edition (news and current affairs for young people), followed by Channel 4 News and its associated political and current affairs programme, Powerhouse.

She has also previously presented news bulletins for Channel 5 News and The Big Breakfast, anchored the ITN Newschannel, and has been a specialist political producer for Channel 4 News.

Bridgid's area of special interest is social affairs. In 2006 her Channel 4 News exclusive - Children's Psychiatric Units Face Closure - was runner up in the Mental Health Media Awards TV and radio news category.

In 2005 she was nominated for the Screen Nation Film and Television Awards news/current affairs presenter category.

In 2003 a story she produced for the Channel 4 News science unit - Radical New Treatment for Human Mad Cow Disease - received a special commendation in the Medical Journalists' Association Broadcasting Awards.

Prior to training as a journalist she was a new media consultant, advising companies on CD-ROM and internet development.
