Watch an exclusive Channel 4 News with Rasheed Nuhu, who was rescued from the fire that claimed six lives in Camberwell. Andrew Thomas reports.
Biography
Andrew Thomas is a reporter for Channel 4 News at Noon where, every lunchtime, he hits the day's biggest story. Economic meltdown, a political scandal, an overnight disaster: if the programme leads with it, he's on it.
Prior to News at Noon, Andrew worked on More4 News. He got an exclusive interview with controversial Dutch MP Geert Wilders before accompanying him on his flight to the UK.
He covered the US election from right across the States, bringing to screen voices not often heard and, from them, predicting Obama would win the presidency almost a year before he did.
Andrew reported from Mumbai in the wake of the terrorist attacks, from Australia on the election of Kevin Rudd, from Nigeria on corruption in the oil industry and from Kosovo as it asserted its independence.
In the UK, he exposed a benefits scam, covered a series of by-elections and won the Bar Council award for the legal report of the year for his investigation into changes in the coroner's laws.
Before joining More4 News, Andrew was a producer for the BBC's Newsnight. He has also directed documentaries for Channel 4 and ITV, one of which won a Royal Television Award, and had a stint as a travel writer for the Sunday Times.
He holds a degree in politics and economics from Oxford University.
