White House 'still working on bailout'

Updated on 16 December 2008

Source PA News

The White House has sought to play down the likelihood of a bailout for distressed US automakers in the immediate future, and suggested that major concessions must be made by the parties involved as part of any deal.

"We are not going to be rushed into it," presidential press secretary Dana Perino declared.

She said the administration was still working on details of the package and wants to hear more from all those involved, including key lawmakers and those in the industry.
