US police chief denies Met interest
Updated on 05 October 2008
Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton said he has no interest in pursuing a job as London's top cop.
The Sun newspaper published a story on Saturday saying Mr Bratton wants to replace Sir Ian Blair, who has resigned as Metropolitan Police Commissioner.
But Mr Bratton, the former New York police commissioner who now is in his second term as Los Angeles chief, said a move to London is not going to happen. The Sun paid for Mr Bratton to travel to London to participate in a summit it organised on Britain's crime problems.
