The Tate gets a telling off for buying artworks from some of its own trustees.

In a rare public rebuke, the Tate Gallery has been heavily criticised for buying work from artists who were also serving on its board of trustees.

A Charity Commission investigation into the acquisition policy of the national gallery of British art has found 'serious shortcomings' and an inadequate decision-making process.

The Tate says it has taken steps to stop any further conflict of interests, as our arts correspondent Nicholas Glass reports.
