Accidentally shot by his own men, Sergeant Stephen Roberts wan't wearing body armour when he died in southern Iraq in March 2003, because it had been given to someone else.

Now a senior military figure - Major General Peter Wall - may face police questioning over how he dealt with two conflicting pieces of legal advice following Sergeant Roberts's death.

No-one has been charged in what is still an ongoing investigation... but letters have already emerged from the Attorney General, suggesting senior officers may have tried to block an inquiry into the incident that claimed the lives of Sergeant Roberts and an Iraqi civilian.
