Strike cancels Eurostar services

Updated on 02 October 2008

Eurostar services to and from Brussels and Lille will be cancelled on Monday because of a strike by Belgian workers.

The walkout by public sector employees will deliver a fresh blow to the cross-Channel rail operator following a fire in the Channel Tunnel last month which has disrupted services.

The 24-hour strike will start on Sunday evening, leading to the closure of Brussels Midi station and the rest of the Belgian rail network.
