Rebels kill police in Philippines

Communist rebels have ambushed a group of policemen in the eastern Philippines, killing five officers and wounding two others, officials said.
Government troops recovered the bodies of the policemen and a suspected communist rebel at the site of the ambush in Sorsogon province's Bulan township, said Lt Gen Roland Detabali, the regional military chief.
A backpack with rebel documents and improvised bombs were also found.
