Prison date set for actor Snipes

Actor Wesley Snipes must surrender to prison authorities on June 3 if he is not granted bail to appeal against three tax convictions, defence lawyers said.

Snipes' lawyers plan to argue before the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Florida that the trial judge erred in several ways before and after his February conviction.

US District Judge William Terrell Hodges last month sentenced Snipes to three years in prison.
