Philippines massacre suspect surrenders

A prominent member of a powerful clan, suspected of involvement in the killing of 57 people in the Philippines, has been taken into custody.

The massacre happened on Monday in the southern Philippines.
The victims were killed on the island of Mindanao as they travelled to Maguindanao province to file papers for the election next May.
Elections in the Philippines are often marred by violence, and clashes between local clans are common.
