Obama selects CIA chief

US President-elect Barack Obama has chosen former Clinton White House chief of staff Leon Panetta to run the CIA, Democratic Party officials have said.
Mr Panetta, who has no experience in the intelligence world, was a surprise choice for the post.
The veteran congressman from California was a director of the Office of Management and Budget.
