US assault al-Qaida Iraqi bases

The US launches a massive military push on al-Qaida bases in northern Iraq with 10,000 soldiers.
U.S. forces in Iraq are involved in one of their biggest operations since the invasion in 2003.
Ten thousand soldiers, attack helicopters and armoured fighting vehicles are taking part in an offensive against what are said to be al-Qaida militants around Baquba, north of Iraq.
